I’m Darcey Kesner Hawkins,
and my mother nicknamed
me Akamai Wahine.

Akamai wahine means ‘smart woman’ in Hawaiian, my mother told me.

I didn’t feel like a smart woman. Not then.

A smart woman would have fit in. A smart woman would be in sync with her world. A smart woman wouldn’t have been abused as a child.

BUT we know women have been programmed for generations to put themselves on the back burner. We followed the rules. We did what we were asked. We were socialized to put others before ourselves.

The odds were against us before we were born.

Then add life-altering trauma like childhood sexual assault; how could we possibly fit in?

We didn’t know who the hell we were!

Life isn't meant to be lived this way.

Trauma and negative programming changes us forever. But, it doesn’t mean we allow it to define us.

I am not defined by being sexually molested as a child.

I am not defined by the programming I was subjected to.

I am a creator in my own life.

So, declare “I Choose Me!”

The journey wasn’t easy and it took decades of healing, coaching, and following Creator’s lead in learning healing modalities.

Through this path I was given the awareness that my life’s purpose was to help others journey to their own healing at a faster pace.

Because…we matter. We are worthy. We deserve to be our best selves. It is our birthright.
